How much does a contrast therapy setup cost in the UAE?
The cheapest pairing costs AED 21,949: a two-person infrared sauna at AED 13,999 and a tub with a separate chiller at AED 7,950, both UAE retail prices from October 2026. A traditional sauna with an all-in-one plunge starts near AED 35,949 (AED 16,950 plus AED 18,999). A built-in suite with sauna, steam room and plunge runs AED 200,000 to 500,000 and more. The cold half is where budgets go wrong. A tub without a chiller is AED 2,500, but its water is only as cold as the ice you add, so we price the chiller in from the start. For the hot half, home saunas sets infrared against traditional, and a hot tub works as the heat if you prefer water to air.
Not sure you will use it? Try the routine first. A 45 to 60 minute contrast session at a Dubai studio costs AED 180 to 270 (October 2026), so the cheapest home pairing equals about 88 sessions at AED 250. The sauna can go almost anywhere dry. Harvia says its infrared cabins need a dry indoor room with 5 cm of clearance all round, and its Vega BC60 heater wants a room at least 1,900 mm high with 1,100 mm of safety distance to the ceiling. Outdoor barrel and cube saunas go in the garden. We ask for the ceiling height with the floor area, because a dropped ceiling can rule a stove cabin out.
The chiller is the part we place with most care, and the first thing we ask every supplier about. DEWA designs Dubai's electrical equipment for 48°C in the shade, and the National Centre of Meteorology has recorded 48.8°C at Dubai airport in August. Many chillers are rated far lower: Active Aqua measures its output at 36°C and approves its units for indoor use only, and Penguin says its standard water chillers are not for outdoor use at all, while Plunge's Pro Chiller Gen 2 states it holds 3°C in 49°C ambient. So every garden offer we bring you states the chiller's rating, and we plan shade and open air on every side: Penguin warns a chiller in a cabinet will not work properly, and Plunge asks for 12 inches of space on each side and 1.5 m between the tub and any socket.
Get a plunge that holds in August

A worked example on DEWA's tariff, lowest to highest slab, with the October 2026 fuel surcharge and 5% VAT: a 6 kW heater at full output costs AED 1.83 to 2.77 an hour, and a 1 HP chiller drawing 1,100 W costs AED 0.34 to 0.51 per running hour. An hour with both running costs AED 2.16 to 3.28. That is rated power times the tariff, not a measured bill; the running costs page shows the steps for each emirate.
