Chiller offers in 5 minutes
Tell us your tub and where the chiller will sit on WhatsApp. We reply within 5 minutes and get you offers from UAE suppliers who compete for your job. Free for you, no obligation.
How it works
The tub you have or want, roughly how much water it holds, where the cold plunge chiller will sit, indoors or out, the emirate and your budget. One WhatsApp message is enough.
We ask what decides the size and the price, then put your job to suppliers who sell chillers for that spot, and ask each one what its unit does at 48°C.
Their offers come back to you in one place, and we tell you which one is the best deal and why.
You buy directly from the supplier you pick, at their price, with nothing added by us. You are never obliged to buy.
The prices
A cold plunge chiller decides whether a plunge works in the UAE, and it is where buyers most often end up with a unit rated for a cooler country. Tell us where yours will sit and we get you offers on chillers sized for your tub and suited to that spot, with the rating stated. If you have not chosen the plunge itself yet, start on our cold plunge Dubai page.
How much does a cold plunge chiller cost in the UAE?
A 1 HP cold plunge chiller costs AED 7,000 to 12,500 in the UAE, and 1/3 HP units sold online cost AED 1,967 to 3,538 (October 2026). 1.5 HP chillers run AED 10,500 to 12,000 and a 3 HP commercial unit AED 24,000. Bundles of tub, chiller and filter start at AED 7,950. The price guide covers every plunge type. Send us your budget and we get you offers inside it.
Find the row closest to what you have in mind and send it to us. We come back within 5 minutes and get you offers on that size, or tell you if your tub needs a bigger one.
| Chiller size | What you get | Price in AED |
|---|---|---|
| 1/3 HP | Chiller, some with filter and pump | AED 1,967 to 3,538 |
| 0.4 to 1/2 HP | Compact and drop-in units | AED 2,115 to 11,200 |
| 1 HP | Some with ozone and filters | AED 7,000 to 12,500 |
| 1.5 HP | Also bundled with larger cedar tubs | AED 10,500 to 12,000 |
| 2 HP | Chiller only | AED 11,900 |
| 3 HP | Commercial | AED 24,000 |
| 5 HP | Commercial, high volume | AED 32,000 |
Two things the table cannot show, and we ask about both. Horsepower is a size label, not a cooling figure. And the price says nothing about the air the unit was tested in, which in this climate matters more than anything else on the sheet. Bought alone, a 1 HP chiller from AED 7,000 plus a AED 2,500 tub comes to AED 9,500, while bundles start at AED 7,950, so if you do not own a tub yet, we get you bundle offers alongside. The ice bath tub page shows them.
Get chiller offers in my budget
This is the first question we put to every supplier. DEWA's Regulations for Electrical Installations require equipment in Dubai to perform at a maximum outdoor shade temperature of 48°C, and Etihad Water and Electricity's wiring regulation uses 50°C for the Northern Emirates. Those are not theoretical. The National Centre of Meteorology has recorded 48.8°C at Dubai International Airport in August and 49.3°C at Sharjah and Abu Dhabi's Zayed airports in July, and Dubai airport's average August night stays at 30.9°C.
The spec sheets vary widely against that. Active Aqua measures its chillers' output at 36°C ambient and states they are "approved for indoor use ONLY". Penguin says its standard water chillers are "not intended for outdoor use at all", while its Cold Therapy Chiller can be used indoors and outdoors. Plunge, the US maker, rates its Pro Chiller Gen 2 at "Maintains 37F in 120F ambient", which is 3°C water in 49°C air. For a plunge outside in a UAE garden, we get you offers on units rated at 48°C or more, with the rating in writing. For a plunge in an air-conditioned room, a 36°C rating is a different and much easier job.
Get a chiller rated for August
Ask for cooling in BTU/h or kW, not horsepower; we ask for it on every offer we bring you, so you can put them side by side. Active Aqua prints both the cooling and the power drawn for each size, measured at 36°C ambient, which makes its manual a useful yardstick.
| Model size | Cooling in BTU/h | Cooling in W | Power drawn in W |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1/10 HP | 1,020 | 299 | 190 |
| 1/4 HP | 3,010 | 882 | 460 |
| 1/2 HP | 4,020 | 1,178 | 600 |
| 1 HP | 10,050 | 2,945 | 1,100 |
Penguin's Cold Therapy Chiller is rated at 7,500 BTU/h, about 2,198 W of cooling, though its page gives no input power. None of these sheets publishes how output falls as the air gets hotter, so a figure measured at 36°C is the best case for a UAE terrace, not the expected one. The Active Aqua and Plunge figures also describe US 110 to 120 V products; UAE supply is 230 V at 50 Hz, so the spec sheet we ask for is the UAE model's own.
Shade structures, ventilation and what happens when a unit runs flat out are covered in our summer guide.
Worked examples, rated input times the published tariff. A 1 HP chiller drawing 1,100 W costs about AED 0.34 per running hour on DEWA's lowest slab and AED 0.51 on the highest, with the October 2026 fuel surcharge of 6 fils and 5% VAT included, or AED 33.50 to 50.82 per 100 running hours. A 1/2 HP unit at 600 W costs AED 0.18 to 0.28 an hour. In Abu Dhabi an expatriate villa pays about AED 0.30 to 0.34 per running hour for the same 1 HP chiller, and on Etihad Water and Electricity's tariff in the Northern Emirates AED 0.31 to 0.47 before any VAT. None of the makers quoted here publishes how many hours a unit runs per day in a Gulf summer, so treat these as rates, not bills. The full sums are on our running costs page.
The circuit matters as much as the tariff. Plunge asks for a dedicated 15 A circuit on its 120 V US supply and no extension cord. DEWA's regulations put Jacuzzi pumps on 10 mA earth-leakage protection and socket circuits on 30 mA, and no extension or alteration to an installation is allowed without DEWA's prior approval. We ask every supplier what their unit needs, and an electrician confirms what your board can take. Servicing belongs in the sum too: an onsite chiller service with internal dust cleaning costs AED 450 to 495 a visit, and our maintenance page explains what a visit covers.
Would you rather not buy the chiller separately at all? All-in-one plunges build it into the cabinet, from AED 18,999, and we get you offers on those too.
